    In our new house the stairs and everything on the second floor is carpeted. The downstairs (except for the master bedroom) is wood or vinyl. The “no shoes on the carpet” rule is DEFINITELY going into effect, with everyone (except Kendall who gets a bye for being the provider of the home)having to go shoeless in the house. I’m sure it’ll cause some initial complaining, but I am NOT wanting to get those way-too-light carpets cleaned more than necessary. In a new house it might work…switching in an old house with the old rules would be much tougher. Good luck. And don’t pick BLUE carpet…I’ve heard it turns gray in a hurry. Maybe gray to begin with…
