I&#8217;m so happy for them. They are the best couple and have been so through many things&#8211;together. I was visiting them, and an old friend told me, &#8220;I look to your mom and dad. They&#8217;re the couple that tells me that even if I can never have it, true love does exist and I&nbsp;hope&nbsp;on.&#8221; I&#8217;m still deciding what I can give them that will be meaningful. Ideas?<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This last spring, my husband\u2019s parents celebrated their 50<sup>th<\/sup>, too. The party for them was pretty epic.&nbsp;My mother-in-law loves to hear her children sing, and she\u2019s an accomplished accompanist. For their gift, she requested a party where each of her children or grandchildren performed something for a talent show on the stage at the church after a potluck Mexican feast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My husband and his siblings all chose songs they knew their parents love. There are eight kids, so a lot of songs, but the top five were these:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=zw-EDPuPNR8\">More<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=JvNMdVYm7_8\">On the Street Where You Live<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bing.com\/videos\/search?q=Denver+Domingo+Perhaps+Love&amp;&amp;view=detail&amp;mid=869B4E68117627A2A2F4869B4E68117627A2A2F4&amp;&amp;FORM=VRDGAR\">Perhaps Love<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=_vu7e0zQGZA\">Ten Minutes Ago<\/a>, and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=H2di83WAOhU\">Smoke Gets in Your Eyes<\/a>. (I linked each one, if you want to see\/hear on YouTube.)<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was such a sweet afternoon, with all twenty grandchildren offering something they\u2019d practiced vocally or on an instrument. It made me think about the future with my husband, the coming thirty years.
