My publisher sent me the latest round of edits for Big in Japan–and there’s hope this will be the last. I’m poring over the lines, looking for typos and flubs, and I can start to feel the energy of this-book-is-really-going-to-be-in-print! The MS is 322 pages in Word, and I’m on page 133 of this read-through, hoping to get to page 200 by this afternoon. Of course, there are distractions, like making strawberry jam (berries were 99-cents/pound this morning, and I’m running low in my freezer) and the five loads of laundry and needing to pay bills (where in the HECK is my checkbook?)
Nevertheless, I’m pressing forward. Here’s hoping my eyes are like eagles’ eyes and I can spot any and all remaining errors in the text. And here’s hoping I don’t eat too many of the strawberries before I can turn them into jam.
